About Orchard Hill Counseling

We are a Christian counseling service located inside Orchard Hill Church in Wexford, PA. Services through Orchard Hill Counseling provide professional care for individuals, couples, and families who may be facing challenging life circumstances. Our counselors take a Christian approach to therapy by combining professional counseling with biblical guidelines and principles. At Orchard Hill Counseling you will feel safe, welcomed, and accepted when working with our team of caring professional therapists.

Faith Bjorklund, MA

Counseling Director

Faith is a graduate of Trinity International University with a Master's in Counseling Psychology, which included theological training. Supporting individuals, premarital couples, married couples, and families, Faith has experience counseling in areas of anxiety, depression, grief, relational difficulties, infidelity, communication training, conflict resolution, abuse recovery, spiritual concerns, and parenting.

Faith is committed to an integrated approach when assisting people in need by bringing biblical truth and spiritual development in concert with psychological counseling.

Faith and her husband Kurt have four sons.

Michael Dunbar, MA, NCC, LPC

Michael is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) receiving his Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Geneva College in Beaver Pennsylvania. His undergraduate degree, in Human Resources, is also from Geneva College. 

Prior to joining Orchard Hill Counseling, Michael worked in the business community for 25 years as a medical consultant and recently as the owner of a small business. 

His area of focus at Geneva was Marriage & Family Counseling from a Christian worldview, but Mike also has years of experience in Mental Health counseling. His experience includes Men’s Issues, Addiction, Codependency, Anxiety, Depression, OCD, Bipolar, PTSD, and Personality Disorders.

Michael is married and lives in the Wexford area.

Stacy Gallagher, MEd

Stacy is a Certified School Counselor and received her B.A. Education from Westminster College and an MEd from Duquesne University. She has extensive experience and training in working with teens and young adults along with experience in counseling for blended families, sexuality issues, marriage, anxiety and depression, life transitions, communication, parenting, and relational issues.

Stacy integrates several counseling techniques in conjunction with biblical truths and prayer when helping people. She and her husband Rick have four children.

Benjamin Harrington, MA

Benjamin holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University and a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies (Christian Ministry) from Geneva College. He has extensive experience as a Behavioral Consultant and Mobile Therapist in the Pittsburgh Community, working within the school, community, and home setting. He has worked with children, adolescents, and adults, treating issues related to gender, identity, mood, and anxiety.

He has a passion for family counseling, in particular, and is certified in Prepare/Enrich marital counseling for couples. He is committed to utilizing solution-focused counseling techniques while relying on faith-based principles.

Benjamin is married and resides with his wife Kirsten and his dog Beau in the greater Pittsburgh area.

Amy Madia, MA

Amy holds a Master’s of Counseling Psychology degree from Chatham University as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Ministry from Taylor University. She has worked with adolescents and adults over the years and has experience in several areas including; addiction, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, parenting, relational issues, and implementing healthy boundaries.

Amy uses different counseling techniques and biblical truth to help people uncover the unique path that God has for their lives. She is passionate about supporting people as they uncover how to find contentment and peace even in the toughest of circumstances.

She and her husband have three very entertaining children who constantly keep them on their toes!

Jamie Mehok, MA, NCC, LPC

Jamie is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) & Licensed (LPC) through the state of Pennsylvania after receiving her Master’s Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Geneva College. Jamie received her undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies with an Interdisciplinary in Counseling from Moody Bible Institute in Spokane, Washington.

Prior to joining the team at Orchard Hill Counseling, Jamie worked in community mental health as a crisis counselor, as well as in different mission organizations that have allowed her to gain further appreciation for all walks of life. Jamie has experience & extensive training with teens, young adults, anxiety, depression, PTSD, life stressors, transitions, relational issues & setting healthy boundaries.

Jamie lives in the North Hills & can be found hiking the local trails.

Rates and Policies

Too often, one of the reasons people won’t seek counseling services is because it costs too much, so we’ve done our best to keep our fees as reasonable as possible.

Rates

The fee for a 55-minute counseling session is $85 (individual, couples, or family)
Payment by cash, check or credit card is accepted at the time of each counseling session.

Orchard Hill Counseling is an independent provider of Christian counseling services and therefore does not participate in specific health insurance or benefit plans. A receipt for services will be provided upon request for those who wish to submit for possible reimbursement from FSA/HSA accounts or benefit plans.

Cancellation and No-Show Policies

If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, Orchard Hill Counseling requires a 24-hour advance cancellation notice.

A $35 cancellation fee will be assessed for cancellations with less than 24-hour notice.

Confidentiality and Privacy Policy

Confidentiality is one of the most important components between a client and a psychotherapist. Successful therapy requires a high degree of trust with highly sensitive subject matter that is generally not discussed anywhere but the therapist's office. Sometimes, however, you may want your therapist to share information or give an update to someone on your healthcare team. The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.

Exceptions include:

  • Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which we are required by law to report to the appropriate authorities immediately.

  • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person, we must notify the police and inform the intended victim.

  • If a client intends to harm himself or herself, we will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, we will take further measures without their permission that are provided to us by law in order to ensure their safety.

Clinical coordinators are available Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 7:00 pm.

Resources

In addition to the services provided through Orchard Hill Counseling, Orchard Hill Church also offers additional resources for those in crisis or facing difficult life circumstances. Recovery Groups (Recovery from Codependency and Christian 12-step Recovery) and Support Groups (DivorceCare, GriefShare, Financial Peace, and Parent-Child Alienation Support Group) meet on Thursday evenings at Orchard Hill Church in Wexford throughout the calendar year.
